Hollis Hunnewell, Sr. Stable Addition
Wellesley, Mass.
Year Built: 1870
Charles Brigham designed an addition to a stable for Hollis Hunnewell in 1870 intended to act as a carriage house. It is unclear whether this building is extant.
Brigham wrote:
“Stables seem to have been an important part of my business this year. I am to remodel Mr. Hunnewell’s (senior) at Wellesley.”
The addition was built by a man named Robinson whom the Hunnewells seem to employ on a regular basis.
