George Abbott James Speculation House

Nahant, Mass.

Year Built: 1869

Charles Brigham made at least preliminary sketches for a house in Nahant for George Abbott James. Brigham wrote,

“I have made sketches (some time ago) for a house at Nahant for Mr. James which he proposed to build upon the site of a little cottage nearby the church—on speculation—but as some friends of his are talking of purchasing it, I may thereby change clients.”

It is unclear whether this house was built.
