Francis Bacon House or Barn

131 Clyde Street
Brookline, Mass.

Year Built: 1867
Year Demolished: Unsure of Date

Sturgis & Brigham designed a house or barn for Francis Bacon in 1867. The house cost $1,000, as it was the firm’s custom to charge 5% of the construction costs for the design. Reviewing maps from 1874, 1888 and 1927, it appears that the building is no longer extant. Presently the property comprises part of the Country Club in Brookline.

No plans or pictures are known to survive of this design.
