Young Mens Christian Union
48 Boylston Street
Boston, Mass.
Year Built: 1911
This is an addition to the Young Men's Christian Union. The renovation comprised removing some interior walls and adding an addition to the rear. The addition was almost completely enclosed by adjacent buildings and viewable only from the end of Lowell Court and the rear area of 41-45 Lagrange Street.
The lower story of this addition has obvious changes and the windows on the second story have been replaced. The original design was likely very simple and utilitarian. The addition continues on for another two bays or so to the right.
