Masonic Building

20 Center Street and 42 Main Street
Fairhaven, Mass.

Year Built: 1901

H.H. Rogers donated the funds to build this Fairhaven building. The building itself was designed by Henry Bisbee (a Fairhaven native) and the lodgeroom was designed by Brigham.

The Boston Globe reported on the lodgeroom:

"The new lodgeroom is the finest of its size in the country. The design is Ionic and the wood carvings are elaborate very effective. The lighting effects are unique, with a cross dotted with stars, each of which is lighted by an incandescent lamp. All of the furnishings were especially designed."
